Josh D. Hammond Filmmaker

I created my first stop-motion film with the assistance of my extensive LEGO collection when I was 11 years old, graduating to recreating the battle of Thermopylae from Zac Snyder’s 300 at 14. None of these projects will ever see the light of day due to extensive copyright infringement on my part, but it was a wonderful way to learn that my love for film extended beyond my vocation as an actor.

I enrolled in UNSW after graduating from NIDA and, as well as being fortunate enough to work as an actor on stage and screen, have been working behind the camera ever since. The Bachelor of Media (Screen & Sound Production) I attained, along with the wonderful creatives I was fortunate enough to work with, was the best platform to leap into the Australian film & television industry I could have been given.

From production assistant to director, I have worked in a multitude of roles on-set which have given me the perspective vital to any artist producing their own projects. I am delighted to share with you some of my recent work in Sydney below, generating short doco-material for Sydney artist Charli Lucas!
